Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and it looks like this will be yet another special day spent in lockdown. With a candlelit dinner at a romantic restaurant well and truly out of the question, you might be left wondering what to do. But, as always, we have been looking for alternative ways to celebrate. So, if you’re lucky enough to be spending Valentine’s Day with your loved one, here are 10 great ideas on how you can share some lockdown love!
Start the day off as you mean to go on and treat your loved one (and yourself!) to breakfast in bed. If you are looking for something truly special, why not order a delicious breakfast in advance? There are many companies offering this service, and Cody’s Waffles is one that will deliver nationally. They offer a Breakfast Box for two that is full of delicious breakfast treats (and if you are near Reigate in Surrey, they offer a limited edition Valentine’s Breakfast Box!)
You might not be able to go out for a romantic dinner, but you can always have a candlelit meal at home. Of course, you can order a take away, or cook something delicious, but why not take the pressure off and get dinner brought to you? Many catering companies are offering special Valentine menus and the ones we have seen sound delicious! Glam Grazing in Surrey are offering Valentine’s grazing boxes and Dine Divine in Dorset offer a 3 course Valentine’s meal delivered straight to your door! To find other catering companies in your area, take a look at our directory.
3. Sweet Treats
If you are looking for some real indulgence, there are plenty of companies offering sweet treats for you and your loved one. Jas K bakes in Warwickshire offer an amazing ‘Box of ‘Love’ which comes with a geo heart full of deliciousness…and a cute little hammer to smash it open! Just Pop have cake filled hearts, chocolate covered Oreos and beautiful cake pops in their Valentine’s range, and they deliver throughout the UK. For something a little less extravagant, many sweet companies are offering special valentine’s packs. Take a look at our Sweets and Chocolates page for more ideas.
If you want to make your home a little bit more special on Valentine’s Day, there are plenty of ways to do this. Many online party shops sell supplies such as bunting, table decorations and confetti. But, if you want something a little more special, there are plenty of companies who can help. Light up letters are so popular at the moment as they make stunning backdrops to any special occasion. Check out Cambs Lights for some great ideas for lights including love letters and a love heart. And if you’re planning a proposal, you could spell it out like the setup below from Sapphire Lights!
5. Movie Night
If you want to create the ultimate indulgent evening, why not book your own cinema experience that takes place in your own home? Many companies have special Valentine’s packages that not only include the hire of the cinema equipment, but extras such as décor, lights, chairs and tasty treats! Check out our Cinema Hire page to find a supplier near you.
6. Night Under The Stars
For something truly special, why not get a 360 igloo in your garden? Eazy Event Hire are one company who offer these amazing domes that offer 360 degree views (and don’t panic, they come with heating and lights!) Great for a romantic dinner under the stars, a romantic movie, or hot tub cover.
7. Balloons, Gifts and Flowers
Balloons All Occasions in Essex have some fabulous heart shaped balloon displays and can even intertwine red roses to the balloons. And we love the hot air balloons from Bursting With Love – a gorgeous valentine’s themed balloon coming out of a personalised box filled with chocolates…and they even come with fairy lights!
Whether you are looking for florists, personalised gifts or just something a little different, take a look at our website. Many of our gift companies can deliver throughout the UK and are offering some fabulous products. We love the jewellery made by Charlie & Chesca and the range of personalised gifts from Double H Boutique.
8. Romantic Hot Tub
If you are looking for a way to relax and unwind with a loved one, then why not hire a hot tub, open the prosecco and enjoy the bubbles? There are many companies offering hot tub hire, and we have a selection of these on our website. Some, such as Hot Tub Hire Essex, have special Valentine’s offers too!
9. Afternoon Tea
Fancy spending an afternoon relaxing with your loved one and feasting on delicious cakes? Then Afternoon Tea could be just for you. Many companies offer Afternoon Tea delivery to your home and some, such as The Afternoon Tea and Cake Company are offering special Valentine’s themed teas. They are offering a ‘Loved Up’ Afternoon Tea throughout February.
Want something a bit different to the traditional champagne or prosecco? Why not indulge in some special cocktails? Take a look at our cocktails page for inspiration (the Valentine’s Kiss is one you must try!) Alternatively, why not order some ready made cocktails or take part in a cocktail masterclass? Albert & Charlies are offering a fabulous Valentine’s cocktail kit which includes ingredients for 4 cocktails, access to a virtual cocktails masterclass and chocolates to enjoy! Sounds perfect to us!
However you decide to celebrate, we hope you have a very happy Valentine’s Day!
